I rarely visit museums for make-believe persons … but it seemed appropriate to make an exception for Sherlock Holmes. Above is a recreation of what Holmes’s study might look like. Find it and lots more other trivia at 221B Baker St. in London.
And don’t despair if you don’t find it at first: The building is between 237 and 241 Baker St.
Even the city capitalizes on the famous address. Below are tiles used to decorate the Baker St. Underground station.

Now this was a pleasant surprise: Real live farm animals at Versailles. Took a wrong turn walking to the Trianon palaces but with loads of goats, sheep and horses to look at, the half-hour-long detour was well worth it.

My portable camera comes with some cool special effects I don’t often use … what better time than a vacation to play a little.
This effect makes everything look like a miniature scene. This was shot from the Eiffel Tower, with every element looking even tinier than it already is.
