Perfect spot for a picnic dinner, Voss, Norway

Here’s an oldie, from when I hung out for a few hours in Voss, Norway, back in August 2014. The reason for being there — to catch a sleeper train back to Oslo — afforded me several hours of wandering.

I had to eat dinner at some point, so after grabbing a few supplies at the local grocery store, I found myself a picnic spot somewhere near water.

Cheap (for Norway) food, priceless view.

I'm not so sure about this one, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I’m not sure in what context this sticker was created and affixed … but as a person who works in media and deals with sharing information day in and day out, I can’t say I fully agree with the message.

Lego city hall

This is a somewhat meta: A Lego model of Calgary’s Historic City Hall on display inside the atrium of the Municipal Building. In real life, the two buildings are attached and make up the Municipal Complex.

Calgary served up another one of its gorgeous sunsets a few days ago. This one is seen from Poppy Plaza, at Memorial Drive and 10th Street N.W.

A neat assemblage of buildings (and one Plus 15 walkway) in downtown Calgary set against a pure blue sky, as seen a few days ago.

Spanning the decades, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

There are a few places in Calgary where it’s possible to a wide diversity of architectural styles from different eras. This is a view from 9th Avenue west of 1st Street S.W. looking north.
