From what I can see, Santiago Calatrava’s pedestrian bridge in Calgary continues to draw non-commuting visitors, especially on weekends, in addition to folks who use the crossing in a functional manner.
Despite the controversial way in which the structure was acquired, I’m happy to see it being embraced by the community.

These six homes (street numbers 101 to 121) on 19 St. N.W. in Calgary have been gradually vacated over the course of months.
They currently sit boarded up, occasionally used as temporary housing by squatters, although never for very long.
I wonder what will take their place. Knowing this city’s housing market, this land is sure to be developed before long.

London’s new tallest building, The Shard, was opened to the public this week. This is a view of the landmark as it was back in September October, from the observation platform at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
The Shard itself has an observation deck … I’ll be sure to stop by when I get back to London for my next visit.
