Corridor of Connection

A lot of visual appeal on the walls of the 4th Street S.E. underpass, which connects Calgary’s East Village and Victoria Park neighbourhoods.

Zyki's art

This little addition make a colourful mailbox in downtown Calgary even more so.

Day for remembrance

Some of the poppies growing in the median of Memorial Drive in northwest Calgary, when they were in full bloom back in the summer.

COVID-19 has made it more difficult for Canadians to attend public ceremonies taking place for Remembrance Day. Despite obstacles caused by the current health crisis, there’s nothing stopping us from taking time today — and really, any day — to reflect on how the sacrifices made by veterans throughout our history have shaped our country. Lest we forget.

Conz

There’s certainly a not-quite-human feel from this piece of wall art in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood.

Make America boring again

Someone put up this sticker along Kensington Road in Calgary, back in the spring. Whoever it is, they didn’t get their wish.

God hates a coward

Part of a series of murals seen from the alley between 9A and 10 Street N.W. in Calgary’s Sunnyside neighbourhood.

Antique art

This lovely antique bicycle-turned-street-art was spotted along 4 Avenue N.W. in Calgary’s Sunnyside neighbourhood back in September. There is bad news about this installation, however: Upon a more recent walk along that street, I noticed the bike was replaced with a sign saying it had been stolen. Keep your eye out for this unique creation somewhere in the city …

Allure western

A figure harkening back to the Old West seems to have been applied randomly on a wall in Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal district, as seen back in winter 2020.
