For years, I’ve been looking for a plaque or a marker to explain the presence of this arch along the Bow River pathway in downtown Calgary. I have yet to find such a thing … so for now, I’m letting my imagination fill in the blanks about this structure’s origin story.

It looks like sandstone, perhaps rescued from one of Calgary’s old sandstone buildings. Perhaps look into our cities historical use of sandstone.
