A follow-up to a post months ago called “Doomed”.
Sometime this spring, those buildings were bulldozed with great efficiency — everything torn down and carted away within a matter of days.
And this weekend, it looks as if new utility lines are going in.
Sign of progress, I presume.

This is the Grand Place in Brussels, captured during my trip through the city last year.
The photo was taken pretty much first thing in the morning … so not too many tourists and lots of vans making deliveries to local businesses.

The Montparnasse Tower might not the the prettiest thing on the Parisian skyline … but at least when your at the top of it, you don’t see it!
In this view, we’re looking at the Eiffel Tower with the modern skyscrapers of La Défense in the background.

A bit of time travel today, back to Calgary Expo in April. The Lego table was always crowded with people of all ages leaning in to see the marvellous work done by the people who constructed intricate scenes, including ones depicted here.
