It’s always a neat challenge to capture this piece of art in a new way. “Conversation” by William McElcheran, on the Stephen Avenue Mall just outside the Hudson’s Bay department store, is seen from behind the shoulder of one of the interlocutors. The image was captured the morning after snow blanketed the city of Calgary a few days ago.

Part of a sculpture known as The Family of Man, outside the former headquarters of the Calgary Board of Education in the city centre.
This is the second home for The Family of Man, with its second name. This piece of art was first called Brotherhood of Mankind, and it was originally part of the British pavilion at Expo 67 in Montreal.
