Here are some of my favourite photos from the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo this weekend.
The photo above is No. 1 on my list: The costume/bag was cool itself … and then the kid wearing it unexpectedly decides he needs to rearrange his something hanging from his neck just as I’m shooting the image. The result is priceless. I walked up to the guy afterward, showed him the photo and he giggled for a good 15 seconds.

This pun-loving vendor at Pike Place Market in Seattle was very grateful (and oddly relieved) when she realized I understood the joke on this sign. Too often, she lamented, visitors would miss the word play and wonder what kind of Spanish-sounding variety an “apple-anche” was.
