Messages on a wall

Some neat street art spotted in/around Seattle’s Chinatown back in March 2015.

Seattle, Washington

A view of Seattle in fading daylight, looking toward the Space Needle and Seattle Center, from the Great Wheel on the waterfront, from my first visit to the city in February 2013.

Willamette Iron Works, Seattle, Washington

Just a plain old sign made special by weather-beaten oxidation and sunlight passing through the leaves of a nearby tree. Spotted in Seattle, Washington, in November 2015.

Garden of glass 2

Visiting Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle is like immersing one-self in an other-worldly experience. So many delicate pieces of glass art created in funky shapes and bathed in just the right kind and right amount of light … it’s almost magical.
Snapped these images back in November.

Beware the cascade of apples

This pun-loving vendor at Pike Place Market in Seattle was very grateful (and oddly relieved) when she realized I understood the joke on this sign. Too often, she lamented, visitors would miss the word play and wonder what kind of Spanish-sounding variety an “apple-anche” was.

Nothing gets people together like good music!

This is Seattle-based Squirrel Butter (Charlie Beck and Charmaine Slaven) performing at Pike Place Market … with some very happy kids dancing along.

Space Needle, Seattle Center, night and day

Seattle. (March 2015 and April 2014)

How neat it was to see the glass flowers at Seattle Centre glowing at night! Captured the image on the left a couple of weeks ago. The one on the right was taken at the same spot during a beautiful spring day in April 2014.

Work is a four-letter word

Today is “hump day” for most people, so this photo seemed entirely appropriate! Found this sticker in Seattle back in April.
