Grand square

This is the Grand Place in Brussels, captured during my trip through the city last year.
The photo was taken pretty much first thing in the morning … so not too many tourists and lots of vans making deliveries to local businesses.

Paris : vue panoramique

The Montparnasse Tower might not the the prettiest thing on the Parisian skyline … but at least when your at the top of it, you don’t see it!
In this view, we’re looking at the Eiffel Tower with the modern skyscrapers of La Défense in the background.

Battle of Endor … in Lego!

A bit of time travel today, back to Calgary Expo in April. The Lego table was always crowded with people of all ages leaning in to see the marvellous work done by the people who constructed intricate scenes, including ones depicted here.

Cost-effective space program

If this person can get to space on spare change, then all the power to him. He could be the saviour of human space exploration.
I’m also sorry to hear aliens broke his space ship.
Spotted in Calgary in early June.

Stampede of old

This is a mural of a historical Calgary Stampede at … the Victoria Park/Stampede LRT station in Calgary. We learned a few days ago that the self-style Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth will go on, in the face of a natural disaster of epic proportions.
One week to go before the whole things gets underway. For many, I’m sure it will be a welcome distraction for the unpleasantness in the news.
