Uncongested commute

Guaranteed lack of congestion for these Toronto commuters, who leave wheels aside and use their own two feet instead.

Marketplace

Lovely trompe-l’oeil murals along the outside of the old Alexander Keith’s brewery in Halifax, now turned into a once-a-week farmer’s market, among other things.

Something you almost learn to expect, dangling overhead.
This was spotted in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Here is the street scene at Hollis and Morris in Halifax, Nova Scotia, looking toward the harbour, shot a decade apart. Top photo from 2003; bottom photo from 2013.

Standing out

10 years later

I feel safe saying not too much has changed …

Oxidé

Silo No. 5 is the last-remaining grain silo at the Old Port of Montreal.
Over the last decade or so, it’s been occasionally used as a musical instrument but normally sits unused, awaiting a new vocation. Not directly threatened by demolition, heritage and preservation enthusiasts/activists keep a close eye on this structure.

Gates 50-70

Nothing better to do on a long layover than to discreetly snap some moody pictures 🙂
This was from Vancouver airport a little while ago.
