Because we're all five years old inside

So … yeah. Not exactly highbrow but it made me chuckle! Spotted in Portland, Oregon, back in the fall.

Sailing happily

Spotted this on a utility box in the old quarter of San Diego, back in the fall.

Airport pardner

Airport pardner

One of the many pieces of art to adorn the public spaces at Calgary International Airport.
Art is everywhere … and it’s not all western/cowboy themed.
There a life-size rock climber overlooking the main public lounge, a huge horse sculpture near the customs exit, aircraft hanging over one of the departure terminal, metallic etchings and carvings amid the floor tiles.
Every time I fly or pick someone up, I try to find something new, a little visual adventure to pass the time.

L'ombre de Vénus

This lovely shadow is cast from a sculpture called Venus Victorious by Renoir and Guino, displayed at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Fragment poétique

Found this poetic fragment pasted onto (and partly torn from) some kind of utility box in Montreal’s Plateau Mont-Royal area.

Laurelhurst

The Laurelhurst Theater has what I consider to be one of Portland’s more extravagant examples of neon signage (of those I’ve seen so far, anyway). It’s on the northwest corner of E Burnside St. and 28 Ave.

Wash and fold

Tucked away in a quieter part of San Francisco’s Mission district.

Clouds not nearly as mean as you ever seen

Clouds not nearly as mean as you ever seen

You can return to a place over and over, gazing out upon a familiar skyline framed by a familiar landscape … but capture it under a partly cloudy sky and you’ve got a scene you will likely never see again.
This is San Francisco, with lovely clouds courtesy Mother Nature, seen from Torpedo Wharf on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in November.
