Sunset, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

A fiery sky and a fiery Calgary Tower to end the day yesterday, July 1, 2017, the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.

Fairytale cityscape

Prague doesn’t need too much dressing up to look its best. Captured this photo on the last day of my visit there, back in September.

Red signals, Sunalta CTrain station, Calgary

A view of downtown Calgary from Sunalta CTrain station, the only elevated light-rail station on the Calgary Transit network. Snapped a few weeks ago.

Ever-changing skyline

Here’s a look toward Calgary’s downtown core, from the south end of the bridge linking Inglewood with St. Patrick’s Island. It seems as if there’s a new building to see every time I make it here to capture a skyline photo.

Calgary at sunset, once more

Golden hour, dead of winter

So if you didn’t already know, I’m a real sucker for sunset shots … and Calgary seems particularly pretty at that hour. Here’s the downtown skyline as seen from my employer’s temporary office space, just a short drive from our usual workplace. Snapped at the beginning of January.

Walk and talk

Just another evening on the Peace Bridge in Calgary. It’s definitely a popular place to be: It was around 10 p.m. that day and I had to wait several minutes for the bridge to clear sufficiently for a decent photo.

Stepping up

It took several minutes to walk to the top of this church spire in Copenhagen … but the reward was a cool breeze and a cool view.

Colourful evening

Peace at sunset

Sunset really is the golden hour.
This is the north edge of downtown Calgary, the Peace Bridge and the Bow River in the foreground and a descending sun reflected in the skyscrapers, all as seen a few days ago.
