It was surprising enough to find a photo booth at the back of the Holocene (concert room/nightclub/arts venue/event space) in Portland, Oregon. Even cooler to see the booth is an upgraded variety to only take credit cards — with a tap-and-pay terminal, no less! Good to see this old-school technology finding a home in the age of the selfie.

This striking structure is part of Tillikum Crossing, the newest bridge across the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon. Opened to traffic in fall 2015, it’s reserved for use by MAX light rail Orange Line trains, Portland Streetcars, cyclists and pedestrians. It is the first bridge of this sort in the United States, according to TriMet.

Downtown Phoenix can seem a little sterile at times … but slide into an alley here and there and you might find something as bright and colourful as this, which I spotted not too long ago at the (very discreet) entrance to a bicycle maintenance shop.
