Calgary, Alberta, Canada

A variant of a common message, spotted in the door of a (closed!) Calgary store a few days ago.

Montreal, Quebec,Canada

The mayor and city councillors meet at city hall … and in Montreal, they also meet at this intersection. Figuratively, of course.

Punctuated

One of several characters part of a public art project embedded in the sidewalk at the Providence Park light rail station in Portland, Oregon. I didn’t notice them until my last visit to the city back in December — assuming they’ve been there for a while.

Royal Canadian Legion No. 264, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Crews continue putting the finishing touches on the new home for the Kensington Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in Calgary. In the photo above, the old legion hall is the low, brown building in the background on the right side of the frame. These pictures were snapped a few days ago.

CKUA, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

One example of the many painted signs that remain on older buildings in Edmonton, something that’s almost impossible to find in Calgary. (Also, CKUA left 580 AM some time ago, so don’t bother looking for it there.)
