I love this kind of information board in train stations. Simple, effective, low-maintenance. The retro feel is a bonus. This one is at Portland Union Station.

Samis Rd. just below Rotary Park is one of my favourite viewpoints for photographing downtown Calgary. Just one downside: The Calgary Tower isn’t visible from this angle.
I guess I’ll have to take another visit to Scotsman’s Hill instead. One of these days. 🙂

Most people’s exposure to subterranean Seattle is limited to the transit tunnels downtown.
But just a few blocks toward the harbour, the Underground Tour takes you into that city’s first tunnels, intimately tied to Seattle’s history and development.
It’s a particular treat for history buffs and those who love urban decay.
