Canadian maple leaf flag, London, England

When visiting London, Canada House is truly hard to miss, what with its bevy of Canadian flags on the building’s exterior and its prime location on Trafalgar Square. Snapped this image on my last visit last September … and sharing the photo today on the occasion of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Happy Canada Day.

The bears feed you!

An interesting sign for a local candy store.

Another view of one of the newest office towers in Calgary. The canopy at right is from the 6th Street CTrain station, while the building in the reflection is the Calgary Courts Centre. Snapped on the weekend.

Look at who (what?) I ran into on the street the other day! This fire hydrant has a striking resemblance to animated TV dad Homer Simpson.

This derelict distillation column is one of the very few visual reminders of a long-gone Firestone tire plant, which occupied an industrial site adjacent to the present-day Barlow/Max Bell CTrain station in Calgary.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

A fire tore through this bed and breakfast on 10A Street N.W. in Calgary back in April. Since then, a chronicle of its life spanning more than a century has appeared on the plywood covering its front windows. Thanks for the memories, indeed.

Looking through a skylight in downtown Edmonton, under a bright afternoon sun. Snapped on a recent visit to Alberta’s capital city.
