Salon somptueux

Wouldn’t you love to have dinner in a place like this? Well, this particular room is behind a velvet rope at the Louvre in Paris. So no, no eating here. Only a feast for your eyes. 😉

La plus petite maison

This is the smallest house in Brussels, as spotted as I passed through town last September.
Well, at least, that’s what the sign says.

Ancient multiculturalism

This is one of the more interesting artifacts at the British Museum in London, to my mind.
Until I saw this last year, it wasn’t obvious to me what kind of role Arabic played in Chinese art centuries ago.

Drink Pepsi-Cola

I love old advertisements and signs painted on old buildings. Much more elegant than our modern billboards.
The photos immediately above and below were taken in Winnipeg; the next ones are from Seattle, Portland, Brussels, Montreal and New York.

Urban totem

Awesome visual/cultural element ornamenting Vancouver’s urban landscape, seen last month.

St. James United Church

St. James United Church in downtown Montreal. It’s a lovely building whose facade, until recently, was shrouded by stores.

All kinds of fish: Faded paint in Manhattan

I love “ghost” painted signage on old buildings. This one is near the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, seen as it was about two years ago.
