Candy cane

Alas this one’s just to look at, of course, not for eating.

Lone snowflake

Here’s one solitary artificial snowflake, a Christmas decoration spotted at a Las Vegas hotel last year.

String of festive lights

Something to brighten the mood in the lead-up to Christmas.

Oh oh!

Last year, I captured this Christmas display (from behind) in the door of a business in the Downtown Container Park in Las Vegas. Little did I know what kind of “oh, oh” we were all in for in the year to follow.

Frosty and friends

From a couple of years ago: Frosty the Snowman (I presume?) hangs out with his pals as part of one of many displays at a winter lights show outside the Rio hotel in Las Vegas.

Scarecrow Santa

An excellent repurposing of a fall staple! Spotted in Calgary’s Sunnyside neighbourhood.

Party at the back

I’ve never wandered down the alley behind the businesses on Kensington Crescent N.W. in Calgary. Their back sides are definitely more colourful than their façades!

Sidewalk adventure

Came across this wonderfully creative imaginary world painted on a fence in Calgary’s Sunnyside neighbourhood.

Quiet urban lagoon

The low(ish) morning sun lights up the clouds and the skyscrapers looming over Prince’s Island Park in Calgary, as seen about 10 days ago, when it was feeling a little more like spring than winter.

Aquatic addition

A relatively new animal-themed mural has made its appearance on a building in Calgary’s Chinatown. This section is an image of a koi pond.
