When lives intersect, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

What a lovely way to mark a happy occasion. This custom street sign was spotted on the patio of a condo building in Calgary. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Lion overlooking the city

Lion looking over the city

One of the lion sculptures that originally adorned Calgary’s Centre Street Bridge was recently restored and relocated to nearby Rotary Park. Here it is in all its glory, as seen last weekend.

You can find another of these restored lions at the front entrance of the Calgary Municipal Building, the name of the modern portion of the city hall complex.

There are still lions on the Centre Street Bridge today, but they are replicas installed in the early 2000s.

From what I’ve read in the past, it appears all these lions are themselves scale models of the lions at Trafalgar Square in London.

Return to the upside-down church, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I haven’t seen this piece of public art since it was installed in Calgary’s Ramsay neighbourhood years ago. It now lives in East Village.
