Silo No. 5 is the last-remaining grain silo at the Old Port of Montreal.
Over the last decade or so, it’s been occasionally used as a musical instrument but normally sits unused, awaiting a new vocation. Not directly threatened by demolition, heritage and preservation enthusiasts/activists keep a close eye on this structure.

Most people’s exposure to subterranean Seattle is limited to the transit tunnels downtown.
But just a few blocks toward the harbour, the Underground Tour takes you into that city’s first tunnels, intimately tied to Seattle’s history and development.
It’s a particular treat for history buffs and those who love urban decay.

There’s a lot of work going on next to the Monument National on Saint-Laurent in Montreal. Almost the entire block north of the venue looks like it’s being gutted or renovated.
This building, for example, is just a facade when seen from the main street. You have to go around back to see what’s really going on …
