12th Street Bridge Inglewood, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Digging (somewhat) deep into the archives for this 2008 image of the 12th Street Bridge in Calgary’s Inglewood neighbourhood … or I should say the old bridge, as this structure was removed from its pilings last month. The bridge, which connected Inglewood with the Calgary Zoo, was damaged in the 2013 flood and a replacement is in the process of being built.

Tuscany CTrain station, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Today, the Rocky Ridge and Tuscany neighbourhoods are just far-flung suburban areas of Calgary. But back in the 1950 and ’60, there was not much around the area, except a lot of open spaces and a service station along the highway to Cochrane.

The Eamon’s Bungalow Camp sign was restored and made part of the Tuscany CTrain station. The garage was put into storage some time ago and purchased for a nominal sum by a group in High River, to be restored and used there.

The photos here were snapped a few days ago.

To trust or not to trust? Opposing ideas found on the streets of Edmonton recently.

Alberta legislature building, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Last Monday was a warm, summer-like day in Edmonton, with all sorts of people out in the wading pools and seeking shade under the trees on the grounds of Alberta’s legislature building.

I find eight-bit-style images created from Post-It notes inexplicably alluring. Spotted this specimen in the window of an office building in Edmonton last week.

What would most of us do without coffee? (I would bet we wouldn’t do very much.) This sign greets customers outside a java joint in Edmonton.
