Montreal artists have painted two giant portraits of singer Leonard Cohen as tributes, after his death in late 2016. The one above is on a building at boulevard Saint-Laurent Boulevard and rue Roy while the one below is found on rue Crescent below boulevard De Maisonneuve Ouest.

When art and public works come together: This elaborate and illustrative manhole cover can be found on the multiuser pathway on the west side of the Willamette River in downtown Portland, Oregon. It’s street art in the purest sense of the term. Snapped this picture on a visit there last month.

It turns out there is a series of signs such as this one, put up in parts of Portland to promote a comic strip based on the life of (you guessed it) sea gulls. I guess I’ll have to find the rest of them next time I’m visiting!
