Several months ago, I told you about an awesome mural in Calgary’s Kensington defaced by taggers. It suffered more damage since then but, subsequently, has received some tender loving care. What you see here is primer applied over some tagged section, made ready for the artist to re-create his masterpiece.

Digging through some photos from late 2013, I came across this quick snapshot of a poster reproducing an artist’s rendition for a remake of Horton Plaza Park in San Diego, above.
It struck me at the time how much those tall metallic columns really look like the Luminous Crossing towers of light at either end of the Calgary transit mall, below.
There’s no evidence (none I could find, anyway) the same artist is responsible for both, which makes this visual/design coincidence even more striking.
