Banff, Alberta, Canada

The view from my bus window earlier today, just east of the Banff National Park boundary. Smoke from wildfires in British Columbia continues to hang over our region, bathing everything in a warm glow, all day long. The image is slightly cropped but otherwise not retouched.

Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada

Thinking of warmer weather today … so here’s a snapshot from an early summer hike about 10 years ago in Kananaskis Country, just west of Calgary.

Cowboy Trail, Alberta, Canada

Roadwork this past weekend caused me to be stationary as I was driving around Alberta’s countryside. If you’re going to get stuck in traffic jam, it might as well somewhere with rewarding scenery like this.

Out on the dock

Here are a few snapshots from a day trip to Lake Louise earlier this week.
As lonely as my photos make the place out to be, rest assured this popular tourist attraction is as busy as you’d expect for high season.

Canoes

Lunch with a view

Storm clouds rolling in

Lakeside log

Striations

Double vision

Another oldie … this one from May 2010 while on my way to Vancouver by car.
Here, I was fooling around with my pocket camera while stopped on the highway at Golden, B.C. I was waiting my turn along a stretch of alternating one-way traffic because of road construction.

Beautiful scenery along Hwy. 22, just north of Hwy. 3.
