Fall colours, 2020

The lovely view from the Peace Bridge a couple of weeks ago, before the weather turned cold and the snow began to fly. Calgary was blessed with many weeks to enjoy the fall colours, as opposed to the much shorter period we’re accustomed to around these parts.

Around the corner

The Bow River curves around Prince’s Island Park in Calgary’s city centre, as seen from the Peace Bridge last month.

Glorious sky

Beautiful clouds up in the sky, from a recent walk in Bowness Park.

Trackside view

A park bench at Bowness Park in Calgary looks onto the Bow River and the tracks for the park’s narrow-gauge miniature railroad.

Clearing along the river

I almost walked past this neat photo opportunity on the Bow River Pathway in Calgary last week — an unexpected break in the trees giving a clear view of the river, the Centre Street Bridge and the city centre. It pays not to be in a rush, if at all possible!

Peace Bridge, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

From a mid-spring wander along the Bow River in Calgary, found some new(ish) chairs scattered about the shore in the West Eau Claire area with a wonderful view of the Peace Bridge.

City of islands

A metro train passes over a bridge in one of the older parts of central Stockholm. This image is from my visit there in summer 2014.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Hoping for a couple more days like Tuesday before the cold weather settles in. This is from the Point McKay side of Edworthy Park.
