Content au travail

A very meta element of a larger mural in Montreal, spotted back in the winter.

Dragons asiatiques

Another example of the vast quantity and diversity of mural art found in Montreal these days. This photo was snapped back in January 2020 … which feels like a lifetime ago.

Glorious sky

Beautiful clouds up in the sky, from a recent walk in Bowness Park.

C-Level Cirque

Near the top of Cascade Mountain in Banff National Park is this geological feature carved out by an ancient and long-gone glacier. This is the “back side” of Cascade Mountain: the other side is what you see when you look eastward down the main street in the Banff town site.

A park bench at Bowness Park in Calgary looks onto the Bow River and the tracks for the park’s narrow-gauge miniature railroad.

Roots of the path

Going up Cascade Mountain in Banff National Park was made a little easier thanks to many exposed tree roots serving as steps going up and down the trails.

Stewart Canyon

Stewart Canyon is home to the Cascade River, which it the source of the blue waters of Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park.

Water of the spirits

Returned to Banff National Park on Friday to hike up Cascade Mountain with a friend. Afterwards, we took over a couple of Muskoka chairs on the shore of Lake Minnewanka for a quick, late lunch — with a nice view on the side.

Superhéros

Another fantastic mural seen earlier this year in Montreal. The city seems to have strengthened its culture of murals and street art in recent years, with more and more imaginative and evocative pieces popping up year after year.

Pas de stationnement

Another one from January: Someone didn’t notice the giant “No parking” sign posted atop a mechanic’s garage in Montreal.
